Hip-Hop

The hip-hop scene in Massachusetts isn’t as large or well-known as those on the coasts, but there are still performers out there giving it their all. The Boston Hip-Hop Unity Fest in May has provided an outlet for some of these performers for the last four years, and the Boston Hip-Hop Alliance supports a peaceful cultural scene across the cityand country.Artists Representative of the Scene:

  • Bayholla: Unsigned female rapper who’s been recognized in the Boston Herald and also performs as part of the group Major Ladies of Boston.
  • Gwop Gang: Mattapan group which recently released their Gwop Gang Radio album for free.
  • Millyz: Hip-hop artist who worked with J. Cardim, Killa Mike, and Sean Kingston on his debut album.
  • J. Cardim: This renowned producer, notable for the variety of his collaborations, has spent time in Cambridge.
