Beneath this monologue, the rhythm section clomps along: a string bass for weight, doubled by a trebly electric bass played with a pick, piano chords doubled by a bright guitar, a drum kit with kick and snare hits alternating in a playful shuffle. One overtly comic element, a steady clip-clop mimicking the sound of a camels hooves, is produced by coconut shells or the orchestral equivalent (as used in Ferde Grofes famous Grand Canyon Suite). Were so busy following the story that we hardly notice the entire verse sits on the major tonic - its a one-chord tune! For added goofiness, horrendously nasal three part girls voices - perhaps members of the Sultans harem . . .
